Are You Struggling To Connect With Your Life’s Purpose?

Have you been feeling lost, bored, or unmotivated with your life?

Do you want help figuring out your life goals and deciphering your values?

Are you tired of doing things the same way over and over and longing to step out of your comfort zone?

Maybe you feel stuck in a line of work that’s no longer fulfilling. Perhaps you’re thinking of moving, switching careers, or making another major life change. Regardless of what your challenges are, you probably wish your life had a clearer sense of direction.

Perhaps you’ve found yourself resorting to the same old patterns of behavior and the same old coping mechanisms as always, but now you’re ready for something new. You want to step out of your comfort zone, seize new opportunities, and make more meaningful connections.

If this is the case, then I encourage you to connect with me. As a certified life coach, I specialize in helping motivated individuals tune in to their emotions, connect with their values, and deepen their sense of personal empowerment. I am confident that I can help you accomplish the same thing.

It’s Hard To Find Your Authentic Self In A World Of Curated Lifestyles

We live in a culture that’s obsessed with appearances and material success. American society is all about glamorous lifestyles that show off lavish clothes, expensive homes, and exotic vacations. Social media only reinforces this phenomenon, bombarding us with images of people who seem to have it so much better than we do. Spend any amount of time scrolling on Instagram and you probably won’t walk away feeling better about your life. It’s so easy to compare your situation to others and think that everyone else is more successful.

The reality of living in a culture where material success reigns supreme is that millions of people live empty and disconnected lives. Because the end-goal is making money and having nice things, so many people aren’t in touch with their inner lives and their true needs and wants. They’ve become preoccupied with appearances instead of their authentic selves.

It takes work to unplug from the chaos of the modern world and tune in to your true needs and wants. That’s why working with a trained professional is so vital. As a coach with a background in therapy, my passion is helping people step beyond the confines of our shallow, success-crazed culture and get to know themselves on a deeper level.

Life Coaching Is A Chance To Do A Deep Dive Into Your Goals And Values

What To Expect In Life Coaching Sessions

In our work together, I will help you become more aware of your body experiences so that you can discover what you truly desire. This can occur through mindfulness and grounding practices, awareness of different ways of being, and learning to consciously shift from unhelpful ways of being toward more expansive ways of being. The goal is for you to live a life that reflects your embodied truth and is in line with your authentic self.

To help you achieve this, I often draw from an approach called the Hakomi Method. This approach seeks to help you slow down and pay attention to the nuances of your experiences. By noticing thoughts, feelings, and sensations as they naturally arise, you can deepen your insight and discover the parts of yourself that are authentically your own as opposed to those that are conditioned by society.

I also specialize in teaching non-violent communication techniques. I will help you learn to communicate what you want in relationships, enabling you to speak your truth and advocate for yourself more confidently. This can help you set healthy boundaries with others and strengthen your sense of personal empowerment.

By bringing a wide range of skills and reflective methods into the coaching process, I believe that you and I can initiate lasting change in your career, your relationships, and every area of your life.

When you’re used to feeling stuck in life, it’s hard to imagine that you could ever live differently. But when you seek the feedback of an unbiased observer, it becomes much easier to figure out what options are available and unlock supportive resources that you didn’t even know were there. My goal in life coaching is to help you break out of creative ruts, widen your perspective, and begin to harness your true inner potential. What we’re essentially doing is partnering up to study your experiences and embark on a journey of deep self-exploration together.

I primarily address the question: What do you truly want in life? This inquiry can include secondary questions like: What is important to you? Do you like the current situation you’re in? What needs to change? What skills or resources do you need? Can you develop or acquire these skills and resources? Can you speak your truth? What is holding you back? Answering these questions can help you gain a better understanding of your needs, goals, values, and hopes and dreams for the future.

You May Have Some Questions About Life Coaching…

Would therapy be more appropriate for me than coaching?

In the simplest of terms, therapy is about healing while coaching is about thriving. Therapy focuses on resolving issues from the past while coaching focuses on determining and achieving future goals. Coaching generally works best if you are stable and not in need of serious mental health support, although this certainly doesn’t mean you can’t have mental health struggles to participate in coaching. Since I have training as a psychotherapist, I can discern if clients need therapy more than coaching, so this is something we can address when we’re together.

How do I know that you’ll be able to understand my situation?

It can be incredibly helpful to share your thoughts with an individual who is clinically trained to listen, clarify, and inquire about your experience, while also knowing how to keep their thoughts, desires, and agendas in check. This is the benefit of working with a professional life coach. That said, although I can draw from my experience and clinical training, I am not perfect and cannot know everything. My goal is to be very transparent about what I observe in your life while owning what is my subjective opinion.

Will my privacy be respected in life coaching?

As a licensed psychotherapist, I am legally required to maintain confidentiality with clients to whom I provide psychotherapy within the State of California. While my coaching services are not governed by the same ethical requirements as my services as a licensed psychotherapist within California, as a life coach I nevertheless strive to uphold the same level of professionalism that I maintain as a psychotherapist. For you to work through your challenges and get in touch with your authentic self, I believe you need a space where you can speak freely and honestly about your life, and that’s why coaching is always confidential.

Coaching services differ in significant legal and ethical ways from psychotherapy.
